An Emotional Autumnal wedding at Highfield Park

Being a wedding photographer, sometimes your job is simply to take amazing photographs for the couple on their special day however most of the time it is also being that friendly face when they need it the most. For Charlie and Pete’s emotionally driven wedding at Highfield Park it was the latter and weddings like these why I love my job so much.

This was my second of four weddings on this October weekend and my first at Highfield Park. With it’s beautiful views across the Berkshire countryside and quite stunning interior, it was a pleasure to work here alongside my very close friend, and Toastmaster, Mike Judd. Working as a team we made sure that the day ran perfectly for the couple and their guests, always being on hand when anybody needed us. Thank you Mike for making this day a truly memorable one!

With weddings I always take a step back and ‘people watch’ to get the fleeting moments that my couples resonate with so much. And for this wedding there were many, oh so many throughout the whole day! The standout moment though has to be when Jamie (Charlie’s Dad) saw her for the first time in her wedding dress. I have been photographing weddings for over 5 years now, being a part of nearly 200 weddings in that time, and I can quite easily say that I have never witnessed such an emotional moment. As Jamie walked into the room he was clearly taken aback with what the image in front of him. His beautiful little girl all grown up in the radiant woman stood in front of him. I felt so honoured to have witnessed such a special moment for this family and it even had me close to tears!

Charlie & Pete, what an absolute cracker of a wedding you had and I feel SO privileged to have witnessed it. Your are two of the kindest human beings I have met and I cannot describe how happy I am for you both. Congratulations Mr & Mrs Honeybourne!
