Clara & Geoff’s Winchester Registry Office Covid wedding
When Clara & Geoff started looking for their Winchester wedding photographer they wanted an unobtrusive and documentary style. This suited me down to a tea as I love capturing real moments and telling the story of a wedding day. This Covid wedding was just as we came out of the first national lockdown back in July 2020 and I thoroughly loved being a part of it.
When checking my gear the night before there were a few new additions to tick off my list. Normally it is all down to high tech equipment to make my job easier but for this, my first wedding since the outbreak of Coronavirus, I needed to check off two additional necessities. A Facemask and hand sanitiser – two items we have come to know and love and essential in the year 2020.
This was the first wedding I photographed at the Winchester Registry Offices and I absolutely loved it. The staff were so helpful and the venue is absolutely beautiful inside and out. It was a very different experience with only 10 people allowed in the ceremony room and a perspex screen separating the registrars to the rest of the room but I loved it all the same.
The mini reception was to take place at the family home so we opted for some portraits at Stokes Bay. The sea and Isle of Wight gave the perfect backdrop as the newlywed couple enjoyed a little time alone.
