The Best wedding photography of 2021

A year to remember after a year to forget

For me compiling my ‘best wedding photography of the year’ blog post is a wonderful time to reflect on the work I have produced over the past 12 months. Putting together my favourites from the year is always a very difficult task but to cut these down to 100 images for 2021 has been INCREDIBLY tough. There were so many more photographs that I wanted to include but I think the 100 images below, and in the slideshow above, tell my story of 2021 perfectly. It seems so long ago I was putting the finishing touches to my best of 2020 blog post with so much happening in the last 12 months too.

This year I have photographed weddings at some of the most beautiful locations in the country and worked alongside some insanely talented suppliers. I have been a part of so many incredible weddings producing some of the best wedding photography I have ever produced. I have even picked up The Best UK Wedding Photographer for the South Central region at The Wedding Industry Awards which has capped a truly remarkable year. After winning this regional award I am now also 1 of 8 photographers up for ‘Best wedding photographer in the UK’ which will be announced in a few weeks time a HUGE event in London.

Although this blog post is mostly about my work with weddings it is also about the highlights of my year. The pinnacle of 2021 has to be the birth of my new baby girl – Iris Olivia. Born in November, in amongst one of my busiest weeks of the year, she has completely rocked my world and has fitted in to our beautiful family perfectly. Here’s a little photo of her looking ridiculously cute at 8 days old!

2021 would not have been as incredible without the people who played a starring role and I must thank them for their part in my journey. To my wonderful wife and ~~two~~ three beautiful girls – you are truly an inspiration to push me further every year!! Thank you so much for your unwavering support and I could not do this without you. To the people I have worked with, you have completely blown me away with your creativity and have made my job so easy – Thank you. And finally to the wonderful people who have made this journey particularly special – my couples. It has been a true honour to get to know you and to be a part of your special day. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to witness such a special day in your lives.

And so to 2022… BRING IT ON!!! I cannot wait to start the year and am very fortunate to be almost fully booked with 42 weddings already in the diary. 2022 will take me to some exciting places across the country and I have no doubt that it will be another year full of some amazing stories to tell.
