Kerryanne Warne was a dream to work with on her audition photographs. Graduating from Ballet West in Scotland, she knew her body and the movements that suited her the most. She came with a collection of photographs that she wanted to achieve from her audition photo shoo, which we got in the bag very quickly and then moved onto some ideas that I came up with for her. Kerryanne doesn’t want to limit her auditions to only ballet companies and so we agreed to allow some time for contemporary and Jazz/hiphop photographs too. Her photo shoot lasted about three hours and we were able to achieve a very strong portfolio for her to take forward into her upcoming auditions.

It is always very difficult to find a photographer who understands how to take a good dance photograph that will help the applicant stand out in the stack of applications a director of a school or company will be looking through. This is something that after 10 years as a professional ballet dancer I can understand and really help to get you noticed for the right reasons. I have been fortunate enough to have won awards for my dance photography but it is always down to the person in the photograph as they make the picture that I capture.
