Being a professional wedding photographer based in Hampshire allows me to photograph weddings in all sorts of destinations. Some are weddings in Hampshire, some are weddings in the UK but when Michela Paolacci, a traditional Italian, and John Hull, a relaxed Aussie, asked me to photograph their destination wedding in Italy, I jumped at the chance. Their wedding was a fusion of two diverse cultures which created a beautiful wedding day that will live long in my memory. Shooting weddings in England, you can never predict the weather, it can be raining one minute and then beautiful sunshine the next and sometimes it can even be both at the same time!! However when a bride and groom decide to get married abroad you can pretty much guarantee beautiful weather, and Rome was no exception. It was a scorching 36 degrees in Zagarolo, Michela’s home town, when John and Michela tied the knot, even at 6.30 in the evening!! The light was absolutely perfect to shoot in, casting a soft yellow light which really helps to give photographs a really warm, romantic look. Michela and John had thought of every little detail to make their day run as smoothly as possible and live long in theirs, and their guests memories. From Michela’s beautiful wedding dress to the gorgeous favours, a porcelain butterfly for each guest, the bride and groom really covered every area with great detail and class. John’s family had made the very long trip all the way from Sydney to be part of John and Michela’s big day and you could see they were made to feel right at home by the wonderful staff at La Fontana Chiusa and Michela’s adorable family. There are not many wedding you will come across that will be stunning as this one so please take a look at a collection of images I managed to capture during Michela and John’s big day.
