One word can sum up this Dolphin Hotel wedding and that is – FUN!! From beautiful city centre venues to props on the dance floor, this wedding had oodles of fun attached to it and everyone had an absolute blast from beginning to end. A pleasure to be a part of and a wonderful story to tell.
I first met Alex and Steven at an intimate wedding fair with Exclusively Weddings who also dressed the couples venues – Westgate Hall & The Dolphin Hotel, both Southampton city-centre wedding venues. This was to be my debut at this venue and my first same sex wedding, both I was looking forward to immensely as an opportunity to learn and provide a perfect day for a very happy couple. As with all new adventures I pride myself on the level of time, research and preparation I put in to give more confidence to Alex and Steven and ensure the venue can support the couple’s requirements.
I was able to capture some lovely moments between the couple at their Westgate Hall ceremony which simply flowed throughout. As well as the traditional formal photographs I added a twist for the guests to ‘strike a pose’ which made for some really fun photographs for the couples collection within the King John’s palace where the drinks reception took place. Some more touching images from Alex and Steven’s time alone were achieved in the ornate Tudor House and Gardens too. There was an amazing atmosphere on the dance floor in the evening, lots of crazy dancing and a small dance off between Steven’s brother and Alex’s uncle was the highlight. (captured on camera of course!) 🙂
The couple wanted some photographs at night and, assisted by the venue preparation I had undertaken, there are two stand-out images to sign off their wedding album beautifully.
