As a regular Rhinefield House wedding photographer I am ready for a variety of conditions and so even when the British summer produced some rain it did not put a dampener on Hollie and Billy’s special day.

I first met Hollie and Billy following a recommendation from the wedding team at Rhinefield House. This venue one of several New Forest wedding locations where I have used my experience and knowledge of the venue to ensure the photographic images represent their story in a style that does not disappoint.

A light drizzle stayed for the whole day but the outside ceremony still went ahead as planned much to the delight of the happy couple and their guests. The light provided variations in technique and the very faint rain drops in the background of the photographs produced a wonderful photographic outcome. I was determined to encapsulate the unique bond between childhood sweethearts Hollie and Billy, who have been together for 10 years, and show their touching scenes of love; no weather was going to spoil this goal. This was made all the more important as two very close families had made me feel extremely welcome throughout the entire day.

Exclusively Weddings produced the flowers and venue dressing for the day and their floristry was sublime yet again, producing a lovely backdrop to some wonderful moments between the couple.

Billy surprised Hollie just before the Wedding Breakfast with an opera singer who performed a song just for them in front of their whole wedding party. This produced some wonderful fleeting moments between the couple.

With 90% of my day being documentary based, telling their story through imagery, I wanted to provide further variety to the couples wedding photographs in the evening. I used the grand staircase at Rhinefield to give the couple a beautiful low light setting to create the ambience I wanted and watched as a few special moments materialised between the couple. Soon after this it was time for their first dance and after that the dance floor was packed in the evening. Everyone loved the band that was playing which presented an abundance of opportunity to capture the enjoyment of the couple and all of their wedding party.

Over the next few months Martin kept in regular contact, ensuring he knew exactly what we wanted from him on the day. Months before the wedding day itself, we knew the photography was not something we would need to worry about which was a huge relief!

On the day, Martin was exactly what we asked for. He was extremely friendly with all of our guests and very polite, ensuring he got the best possible photographs. In fact, many of our guests later commented on how brilliant he was, and how nice it was to have a photographer that simply catches those many perfect moments at a wedding, instead of making ‘false’ moments. That is what is so special about the service Martin provides. Everything is natural and real. And be assured, if he can, Martin will definitely go that extra mile for you to make you happy!

Our photos are absolutely incredible. Thanks to Martin, we will always have a storybook of photos to share with friends and family for the rest of our lives. Definitely one of our best investments to make our wedding day the best it could possibly be!”
