Cheryl and John’s Elmers Court wedding proved to be a magic day, full of surprises in more ways than one!

I first met Cheryl and John following a recommendation from Wedded Bliss Bridal boutique where I am their recommended wedding photographer. Both Cheryl and John are wonderful people and I could tell from when we first met that there wedding was going to be a special one.

As I have not photographed at this venue before I took extra time to visit and research the location, so I could help create the best photographic story for Cheryl and John’s big day. With John and Cheryl’s extensive knowledge of the area, being Leamington residents themselves, they told me a few cool places that meant a lot to them and after seeing them I knew they would work perfectly for there wedding photographs.

The wedding story started at the Bride’s home for her Bridal preparations with lots of laughter and a great atmosphere. This family time was captured with some sensitive photographs of the Bride, with her parents and Bridesmaids.

I then shot ahead to meet John at their church – St Thomas All Saints Church in Lymington, for the arrival of the couples guests. The Bride and Bridal party arrived on a beautiful green and black horse drawn carriage, making a spectacular and distinctive entrance. The ceremony produced some lovely moments especially as the Groom punched the air just after the ‘I do’s’.

As a photographer I always plan for the unexpected and as I was setting up for some formal photographs with the family in front of the Horse drawn carriage, one of the beautiful horses decided to ‘take a leak’ right in the churchyard which brought fits of laughter from the surrounding guests and a wry smile from the driver! Needless to say I captured lots of great photographs at this moment but had to change where I was going to do the formal photographs – a very small price to pay for the great photographs.

John and Cheryl live in Lymington so it holds a very special place in their hearts. We chose to do their personal photographs in different parts around the beautiful coastline that the town and surrounding area has to offer. John is a member of the RNLA lifeboat team at Lymington so it was only fitting to have some photographs in the lifeboat with the Bride and Groom. Arriving at Elmers Court was a beautiful sight as the Horse drawn carriage pulled up in front of the beautiful manor house hotel.

Elmers Court Hotel & Resort is located on the stunning Solent Coast, at the edge of the New Forest and lies within 23 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds, excellent facilities and stunning gardens. Lots of scope for exciting images! The 19th century manor house also overlooks Queen Mary lawn and the Lymington River and is a stunning location for a wedding.

The speeches proved to be a wonderful occasion as the Father of the Bride drew on some childhood memories and the Best man recounted some funny stories of the Groom. A little surprise was planned for Cheryl in the evening where John had arranged for a magician to perform. Everyone loved this and it was a special addition to a wonderful day.

From the moment I arrived for this Elmers Court wedding I knew that it was going to be special and it really didn’t disappoint. Congratulations John and Cheryl – You nailed it 🙂
