This blog post has been a long time in the making as every time I have sat down to do it something else has cropped up within the business – the reality of being a professional photographer – but I now want it to take president and so emails and phones switched off, here we go.
I feel very blessed to have photographed this Townhill Park House and Gardens wedding. Firstly because it was a remarkably beautiful day and also because I am very fortunate to call Lauren and James friends. I met Lauren through my wife some 10 years ago and James followed after meeting Lauren. We have encountered many a dinner party and social occasion through the years and with James being an avid Chelsea fan our football conservations have dominated the evenings on more than the odd occasion.
Lauren and James both wanted a very relaxed feel to their day with minimal set up photographs allowing them to spend the maximum amount of time celebrating with their guests. My photojournalistic approach was exactly what they were after in their Townhill Park House wedding photography and the photographs that will follow show the beautiful story that this very special day entailed.
We started at the local Strands hairdressers in Stubbington before moving back to Lauren’s parents house for the bridal prep. The church service soon followed at St Edmunds church in Stubbington and as Lauren made her grand entrance a very nervous James visibly relaxed as he saw his Bride walking towards him. Both with big smiles on their faces as their eyes caught each others for the first time that day.
The reception venue, Townhill Park House & Gardens, is somewhat hidden in the outskirts of Southampton but what a gorgeous venue it is. The main building is of an art deco style with gorgeous grounds and a stunning sunken garden which is where I took the couple for some time on their own. The main hall was decorated perfectly and the unique idea of using old photographs as place names was simply genius. They also had a memory wall which kept all of the guests entertained.
This wedding will definitely live long in my memory as a Hampshire wedding photographer and I cannot wish this wonderful couple enough happiness in their future together.
Congratulations McHarris’s you completely and utterly nailed it!!!
