Julia and Alex enjoyed a quite remarkable day at their Wotton House wedding. The sun shone and their guests laughed as this wedding produced some stunning photographs.
When I first met Alex and Julia some 18 months prior to their Wotton House wedding I couldn’t help but feel they had a very strong emphasis on getting amazing photographs of their special day. They told me how they initially saw my portfolio whilst viewing a wedding album at another venue and fell in love with the natural, story telling style of my photography. Always welcome words to hear on an initial consultation 🙂 They opted for a different wedding venue for their special day but it was that album which made them realise they had found the perfect wedding photographer for them.
Wotton House was the setting for their wedding and it is quite a remarkable venue set in the Surrey countryside. As you enter the venue there are beautiful wrought iron gates and carefully manicured grounds which just ooze quality of the highest standard. The beautiful Italian Gardens are the perfect setting for a wedding with inside spaces filled with stunning 17th-century detailing and modern, luxurious touches. I thoroughly loved working at this venue and I hope to again soon. The staff were so helpful and accommodating with a real emphasis on making Julia and Alex’s wedding special. It is of no surprise that they were awarded Best Country Wedding Venue in the South East at The Wedding Industry Awards this year.
The wedding day was perfect from start to finish with so many unique details on show, one of which being a Cuban cigar table. A wonderful addition which was taken full advantage of by the guests in the evening. Julia’s father unfortunately passed away shortly before the wedding and in his place at the top table laid his Captains hat alongside a lit candle to remind us that his spirit was still present. A truly wonderful thing for a loving daughter to do and I know he would have been exceptionally proud of the incredible woman you have become Julia. For the couples personal photographs I split it into two sections. One short section during the reception drinks and one at sunset. Both proved to produce some stunning results first finding an opening in the tree’s which was shaped like a heart (how often does that happen??) and the second we were lucky enough to have some wonderful golden light giving a really romantic feel to the photographs. The speeches were both sentimental and hilarious at the right places and the dance floor was buzzing well into the evening as the couple and their guests partied the night away.
Julia and Alex… Thank you so much for allowing me to document your Wotton House wedding and I have thoroughly loved working with both of you. You are two very thoughtful people with a kindness very few can match. A huge congratulations on a sensational wedding and I feel very proud and privileged to have photographed your very special day.
