Emily and Simon’s Coombe Lodge wedding photography was jam-packed with emotion from the first picture to the last. It was also an occasion very special to me as it was the first wedding after the birth of my youngest little girl – Connie – that I had photographed. Only two days afterwards to be precise, so I was on cloud nine as I travelled up from my local Hampshire to this stunning setting in the Somerset countryside.
As a documentary wedding photographer I am always looking for moments that the couple will want to look back on that honestly tell the story of their special day. Some people refer to me as the ‘witness for the couple’ or ‘the record keeper’ but for me, I am there to capture moments. Special moments that will bring back the emotions felt during the day and on this particular day the moments just kept on coming.
The Bridal preparations were full of happiness and laughter, with a few ‘happy tears’. A completely different atmosphere was felt with Simon and the boys later in the morning as they were much more jovial with an excitement amongst them for all to see.
One of my favourite images from the whole day was as Emily’s dad popped his head around the door to see his only daughter looking radiant in her stunning wedding dress. Sheer disbelief at the stunning lady stood in front of him whilst remembering the little girl that she used to be.
The rest of the day flowed effortlessly and in the end the collection of photographs from the day was one that told a story of cheer bliss for all involved.
Emily and Simon are a dream couple and two people that I have been honoured to have as clients. I cannot thank them enough for ensuring their trust in me to capture their wedding and I am so happy for them and their new life together.
This blog post is something of a landmark for me as it introduces the new photofilm that my business now provides. This gives the viewer a glimpse into the wedding day whilst telling a story of how the special day unfolded. Enjoy.

Simon and I just wanted to thank you for taking such amazing photos on our wedding day. The albums arrived last week and we are extremely happy with them. Our album is so beautiful and it will be an heirloom to pass on, we gave the parent album to Simon’s parents today and they really loved it. I still need to give mine to my parents and I cant wait to give it to them! All the guests at our wedding really complimented you after our wedding day and they also loved the photos.
