This Hampshire wedding at Bonhams Barn in Holybourne had everything from beautiful venues to stunning backdrops (and every-single-little-thing in between!!). The details Liz and Mark added to make this venue so beautiful were not only stunning and ingenious but also so unique and beautifully presented. There favours were a particular favourite of mine! Liz and Mark evidently put a lot of time and thought into their wedding day and it REALLY paid off as you will see from the collection of photographs below.
I arrived at the wonderful Hotel Du Vin, which is a beautiful boutique hotel in the city centre of Winchester, for Liz’s bridal preparations. I captured Liz and her Bridesmaids preparing for the big day with bundles of fun and giggles and lots of bubbly on the go. Liz was glowing and evidently so excited which is always lovely to see on the morning of a wedding day. She had prepared a little surprise for Mark – A VW camper van – in the morning and wanted me to photograph him arriving at Winchester Guildhall which was the setting for their wedding ceremony. I ran down to make sure I captured Mark and his Groomsmen arriving at the Winchester Guildhall and sure enough as the a VW camper van, with wedding ribbons in toe, came down the street there was Mark simply beaming.
I captured some photographs of Mark and the Groomsmen before heading back up to Hotel Du Vin to photograph the remainder of the Bridal Preparations and Liz’s walk through Winchester high street. As she walked through the busy streets of this fabulous city she was turning heads and people were cheering. She looked so radiant in her 1950’s style wedding dress and I couldn’t help but think how happy she looked and so content. Liz and Mark’s ceremony was beautiful with their young daughter, Merry, being a little flowergirl. As she started her walk down the aisle she made a bee-line for her Dad and gave him a huge hug something that I am sure Mark will never forget.
After the ceremony it was time to head over to Bonhams Barn for Liz and Mark’s wedding reception. As I walked into this Hampshire Barn venue I could not help but let out a ‘wow’. The last time I saw the venue it was an open barn space with nothing but walls and a log burning fire. Now it was transformed into a beautiful scene with bunting flowing from the ceilings, intertwined with fairy lights and rows of tables with gorgeous flowers and bottles of wine. There was also a child’s play tent full of toys outside and a bathtub full of booze – a quite unique feature I feel ;). I captured as many of the little details that I could see, including the wonderful cake contest table, and then it was time for the group shots of the family.
After the groups I took some photographs of Liz and Mark in one of my favourite places to photograph at Bonhams Barn and that was by the entrance in amongst the rows of trees. I wanted to get them a range of photographs that had a beautiful setting and let the viewer concentrate on the emotion between this fabulous couple. Something that I feel is essential to stunning wedding photographs.
The speeches were hilarious and Bonhams Barn really created the best atmosphere throughout the entirety of this wedding day. The evening was filled with fun and laughter with lovely details such as the photo booth and keiley being extremely popular with all of the guests.
A truly beautiful wedding for a truly beautiful couple. Congratulations Liz and Mark, this is sure to be one wedding that will stick with me for many years to come.
