Being a professional wedding photographer based in Hampshire it is lovely when my job takes me away from the county for a little while. It’s great to experience new wedding venues in other counties as I find it brings even more of my creative side out. Woodhall Hotel and Spa is a wedding venue from the Handpicked Hotel chain and is set in the Wetherby countryside. Woodhall Hotel and Spa oozes class and sophistication and everywhere I looked I could see a potentially stunning photograph. This really was a gorgeous wedding venue to photograph at.

If you could epitomise an English wedding you would come up with exactly what was witnessed on Catherine and Jon’s special day. A beautiful bride in a traditional long white dress and veil, a dashing groom and groomsmen in gorgeous grey suits, a traditional Rolls Royce, an elegant church ceremony, a big manor hotel set in the rural english countryside, and then to top it off, a live band for the evening reception! I think every wedding photographer will agree, a dream!! From the moment I started to capture their day to the minute I packed up my camera to leave, every single guest was either smiling, laughing or strutting their stuff on the dance floor.

Special praise must go to the decorations for the day, created by Elmay Events, which were simply breathtaking. Real thought had gone into every detail, from the centre pieces to the church decorations. The speeches were fantastic, some of the best I have heard, and Catherine who was so visibly happy and relaxed, just beamed all day!! There was one little chap who stood out and was just a dream to be around and that was Jon and Catherine’s little boy Spencer. He is such a lovely, happy chappy and I know both Jon and Catherine are very proud and rightly so!!
