Jo and Andrew tied the knot on Sunday 4th May 2014 at the beautiful Hodsock Priory in Nottinghamshire. Their wedding day was jam packed with excitement, happiness, laughter and most of all FUN. From the moment I arrived for the Bridal preparations right through to the last photograph I took there was a wonderful sound of laughter ringing out around this beautiful wedding venue.
The day started with the bridal preparations in the Courtyard hotel adjacent to Hodsock Priory where I captured some natural photographs of the girls getting ready. One of the highlights has to be the unveiling of Andrew’s wedding present to Jo which was a stunning Tiffany’s pearl bracelet. Jo’s reaction was wonderful and I have to say I think it is one of the most beautiful pieces of jewellery that I have seen, really elegant – well done Andrew!! After this I headed over to the Bridal Suite which was now ready to photograph all of the details and the remainder of the bridal preparations. The light and setting in this wonderful room was amazing and proved to produce some quite stunning photographs.
After leaving the girls I went to go and find Andrew for the Groomsmen photographs and he was beaming. Clearly very excited and not an ounce of nerves in him which was really lovely to see. It was soon time for the ceremony which through up some wonderful moments between Jo and Andrew to capture with Jo also walking in to the sound of a trumpet which was played by one of her closest friends – ‘Rachel the trumpeter’. The reception drinks followed and with that the group photographs. I love it when a couple want to add something different to their wedding photographs and Jo’s idea to have two signs with their wedding date and names on for their big group photograph was brilliant.
With the couples ‘time alone’ I was really spoilt for choice with regards to a location as this stunning wedding venue has stunning backdrops in abundance. The huge pond at the bottom of the garden was the ideal setting and has given them a wonderful set of photographs to look back on for years to come. I also chose a couple of other settings to give them some variety when it comes to choosing the photographs that they would like in their wedding album.
The rest of the day and evening flew by so quickly. Some of the highlights were croquet on the lawn, a wonderful powerpoint presentation by the Father of the Bride, ‘Rachel the trumpeter’s’ surprise speech and some wonderful, emotional moments in the first dance.
I feel truly honoured to have shared such a wonderful day with such a wonderful couple and their guests. I hope you enjoy the photographs below of the magical day that Jo and Andrew shared at this stunning manor house wedding venue in Nottinghamshire.
