A colourful and vibrant Indian wedding at Rhinefield House

Boy do I love an Indian wedding! Such vibrant colours and so much emotion – a documentary wedding photographers dream!

David and Meera’s Indian wedding at Rhinefield House was such a fun occasion to be a part of. It was a jam-packed day which started with Bridal preparations and ended with a lovely choreographed first dance. With David being a professional ballroom dancer I knew this was going to be the perfect end to a stunning day. There were also two ceremonies to photograph – an English civil ceremony and an Indain ceremony – both completely different but producing some wonderful fleeting moments for me to capture. The weather was a typical March day with a light dusting of rain in patches but generally quite dry which meant we could get some photographs of the couple enjoying the stunning grounds that makes Rhinefield House such an appealing venue for couples.

The English ceremony was set in the Grand Hall and as you can imagine it was a very emotional part of the day. One of my favourite moments was as the Bride and Groom were saying their vows Meera’s mum had to wipe away the tears, clearly seeing the little girl she loved in the woman stood before her.

The Indian wedding ceremony took place shortly after and was set in the Armada Room at Rhinefield House and with it’s grand fireplace, oak panelling and beautifully large windows was the perfect setting to celebrate such a special occasion. Meera was dressed in a stunning turquoise sari and as she entered the ceremony, escorted by her uncles, everyone gasped as this stunning woman walking down the aisle. There were some wonderful moments during the ceremony as money was passed from parents to the couple and the traditional circling of the sacred fire 7 times.

The remainder of the day seemed to fly by and before I knew it I was taking the couples nighttime pictures at the front of Rhinefield House. I would like to say a huge congratulations to David and Meera on a truly remarkable wedding. I wish you the very best of luck in your new chapter together and it was such an honour to photograph your Indian wedding at Rhinefield House.
