Photographing weddings at barn venues is an absolute joy and so I was delighted to cover Kayleigh and Chris’ Manor Barn Buriton wedding photography on a drizzly day in August earlier this year.
Many of my bookings come from strong testimonials and it was via a personal recommendation from a previous Bride that I was introduced to the lovely Kayleigh and Chris. Sophie, the Bride in question, had a wonderful wedding set by the sea in my local Lee on the Solent and once Kayleigh had seen Sophie’s wedding photographs she contacted me directly. You can view Sophie’s gorgeous wedding here – seaside/marquee wedding on the Solent.
For Kayleigh and Chris rain all day meant the majority of the wedding was spent inside but this did not spoil the atmosphere and quality of images that were supported by the flowers and venue displays provided by the wonderfully talented team at Exclusively Weddings.
Kayleigh, who is a Graphic designer, had a clear vision for what she wanted her wedding to be like and it was absolutely stunning. She used fruit in vintage jars, lots of candlelight and vibrant colours to create an atmosphere that her guests were in awe of. To a photographer this adds new possibilities for images but also adds to the creative pressure when a client is so very talented!!
Superhero themed table names and a similarly themed photo booth captured the imagination of the wedding party and the guests loved this unique idea. Lot’s of lovely unique details adorned the day including a potting shed sweet table and a cake full of different types of cheese with super hero mice to boot.
Kayleigh’s parents gave her a locket for her ‘something old’, which contained a picture from their wedding day and she attached it to her bouquet to make sure it was with her for the entire day – a truly touching little detail that I am sure Kayleigh will cherish forever.
The rain ceased for about 20 minutes during the Wedding Breakfast so we nipped down to the beautiful lake just outside the venue to capture their personal photographs which produced some absolutely beautiful moments between the couple.
The evening saw Kayleigh’s brothers perform for the guests, with the rest of their band, and it went down an absolute storm!
The last photograph was set under the big tree in the grounds where I created a silhouette of the couple to sign off their wedding photographs beautifully.
