I’m always up for the challenge of photographing at a new venue and this Marwell Hotel wedding produced some wonderful moments to capture. Meeting the needs and expectations of my new clients Kerry and Paul meant I had extra research to do for my first wedding at this lovely Hampshire venue.

Kerry and Paul had found me online and we organised a private consultation at my studio in Fareham, which gave us the opportunity to get to know each other and explore some ideas to ensure their day was truly memorable.

As I had not photographed a wedding at this venue before I visited a couple of times to see where the best possible place would be for their personal photographs and familiarise myself with the layout of the venue. I very soon came to the clear conclusion I wanted to use the contemporary features as well as the ‘secret garden’ forest area at the back of the property for the couples photographs. It is a lovely setting with the sun playing a key part in some wonderful photographs and a setting I will definitely use again when I next photograph at this venue.

Kerry and Paul are childhood sweethearts and have been together since they were at high school so it was no surprise to find them supported by a really close family that made me feel very welcome from the moment I arrived on the day.

The wedding day was a big success as Paul and Kerry placed huge emphasis on achieving the best possible wedding photographs, recording formal and informal images for them to cherish. The formalities of the day were followed by a crazy evening party, including an excellent live band, which was loved by all on the dance floor – young and old – as you will see in the collection below.

Since first meeting Kerry and Paul my aim was simple – to ‘knock it out of the park’ for this lovely couple. The photographs below show just how incredible Kerry and Paul’s Marwell Hotel wedding really was and I hope you enjoy having an insight into the story that the day entailed.
