Sophie and Adam are a truly wonderful couple with energetic and positive personalities. They bounce off each other effortlessly and are always a joy to be around. Their Rhinefield House winter wedding was a complete reflection of themselves – happy and full of fun! Couple this with their amazing friends and family has given them a stunning collection of photographs at the beautiful Rhinefield House in the New Forest. It was at the venue, some 12 months earlier, when I first met Sophie and Adam along with Kathie, Sophie’s mum and John, Kathie’s partner. We instantly clicked and when I heard more about the day they were planning my inner smile beamed from ear to ear. Having not photographed a wedding at Rhinefield House so close to Christmas (only 6 days prior to Christmas Day itself) I was very excited to show what I could produce from such a truly magical setting.
Sophie and Adam’s wedding was my 18th at Rhinefield House in 2015 and every time I pick up a camera to photograph at this amazing Hampshire wedding venue I am in awe of its grandeur and the beautiful way in which each couple decorates it. With photographing 18 weddings at a single venue there are certain things which you need to think about to make sure that no two clients photographs are ever the same. This is a challenge that I always love and spend time prior to the wedding day making sure I have some new and fresh ideas for the ‘couple photographs’ which each and every Bride and Groom will love.
Being a documentary, photojournalistic or story-telling based photographer (however you choose to phrase it) is about one thing and that is recording the day as it happens, as if you are the couples witness. Being their eyes for the day and recording it so that in years to come, when they are celebrating their 25th or 50th wedding anniversary, they remember the emotions they felt on the day itself. It is this approach that I undertake for all my weddings and it is something that resonates wholeheartedly with all of my wonderful couples.
I wish both Sophie and Adam the happiest of marriages as husband and wife and from the bottom of my heart, thank you for allowing me to be your witness at this beautiful Rhinefield House winter wedding
